911 Enable Certifies Its E911 Call Routing Service with Cisco Emergency Responder 7.0
911 Enable’s Emergency Routing Service works with Cisco Emergency Responder to help enterprises meet their E911 requirements
Montreal, QC – September 3, 2009 – 911 Enable, a division of Connexon Telecom, today announced that its Emergency Routing Service (ERS) has successfully completed certification testing with Cisco Emergency Responder (CER) version 7.0.
The ERS is a monthly subscription service that provides organizations with E911 connectivity to Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) across the US and Canada. When deployed together, the CER and ERS offer an elegant, simple to manage solution that helps enterprises meet their E911 requirements. It allows organizations to provision highly granular locations, and also provides E911 support for off-campus workers. The CER automatically tracks IP phones and instructs the Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) to route 911 calls to the ERS, which then delivers the call and precise location information to the appropriate PSAP. Key features of the ERS include E911 connectivity to over 6,000 PSAPs, a single national ALI database, and compliance with all state and local E911 regulations.
The Emergency Routing Service also helps enterprises reduce E911 costs by eliminating the need to purchase and maintain regional PS-ALI accounts, dedicated 911 trunks, and local gateways at each company location. Additionally, there is no hardware or software required, making the solution easy to deploy and manage. This results in significant cost savings and reduced administrative burden for the organization.
“We are excited to offer our Emergency Routing Service to enterprises that have deployed CER,” said Lev Deich, Director of 911 Enable. “By combining the CER and ERS, organizations can now implement a cost-effective and complete E911 solution which ensures the safety of their entire workforce. This is especially the case for enterprises with distributed networks, multiple branch offices, and work-at-home employees.”
