TCS Signs Reseller Agreement With ConneXon Telecom for TCS VoIP E9-1-1 Service.
Deal Opens Enterprise Markets to TCS; Allows ConneXon To Offer Affordable E9-1-1 to Small- to Medium-Size VoIP Providers
ANNAPOLIS, MD – July 13, 2006 - TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. (TCS) (NasdaqNM: TSYS), a leading provider of mission-critical wireless communications, today announced it has signed an agreement with ConneXon Telecom Inc. to resell TCS Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) E9-1-1 service. Designed for mobility, TCS VoIP E9-1-1 service enables ConneXon to provide affordable emergency call routing to small- to medium-size VoIP providers and enterprises.
Under terms of this agreement, ConneXon will launch its new service called 911Enable™. The ConneXon service is based on TCS VoIP E9-1-1 service for call delivery to Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) for effective, real-time call routing of emergency VoIP 9-1-1 calls. The agreement marks TCS’ foray into the enterprise arena without the overhead associated with integrating the national medium to small businesses that ConneXon serves.
“We are excited to partner with TCS, the leader in E9-1-1 location technology, to provide important E9-1-1 services to our customers,” said Lev Deich, President of ConneXon Telecom. “TCS’ proven E9-1-1 platform will bring an enhanced level of confidence to our customers. Enterprises, in particular, will find reduced costs with the innovative TCS and ConneXon solution.”
TCS VoIP E9-1-1 solution, now live to over 3,000 PSAPs, enables VoIP providers to offer enhanced emergency services to their customers. TCS works closely with VoIP providers, PSAPs and local exchange carriers (LECs) to manage the deployment and operation of VoIP E9-1-1 services.
TCS will leverage ConneXon’s strengths as an aggregator to build its channel, and once it integrates with ConneXon, TCS can add channel partners without additional cost. This will enable both companies to realize lower aggregated costs for the E9-1-1 services.
"We believe this reseller agreement marks an excellent way to introduce our E9-1-1 offerings to a much broader audience,” said Jon Croy, Senior Director, VoIP Services for TCS, “and it may ultimately improve enterprise VoIP user access to E9-1-1 services."
Now supporting more than 120 million wireless subscribers and taking an active role in standards-setting organizations, TCS continues to be a leader in wireless E9-1-1 and is using that leadership to give VoIP providers the most reliable, flexible and cost-effective VoIP E9-1-1 solution available. An example of its commitment to excellent quality is that the TCS Service Bureau in Seattle, Wash., is the only TL-9000 certified facility providing wireless or VoIP E9-1-1 location services in the United States.
