The 911 Enable Virtual Emergency Gateway Now VMware Certified Virtual Appliance
Virtual appliance provides cost-effective, enterprise-class E911 management capabilities for small and medium businesses.
Montreal, QC – May 5, 2011 – 911 Enable, a division of Connexon Telecom, Inc., today announced that its Virtual Emergency Gateway (V-EGW) has completed certification testing with VMware and is now a VMware Certified Virtual Appliance.
Running on VMware ESXi 4.x or greater, the V-EGW provides robust and reliable E911 management functionality for deployments with up to 1,500 users. Key features include automatic IP phone tracking, on-site security desk notification, and support for remote workers. The V-EGW is also used to securely communicate with the 911 Enable Emergency Routing Service (ERS), which delivers emergency calls and detailed location information to Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) across the US and Canada.
Simple to deploy and manage, the V-EGW helps organizations eliminate unnecessary capital expenditures and meet state and local E911 regulations. It can be quickly delivered and implemented, with a smaller appliance footprint that allows for optimized resource allocation. Because the V-EGW does not require dedicated hardware, an organization can save considerably on power consumption, hardware maintenance and upgrades, monitoring, support and compatibility. And like all virtual appliances, the V-EGW offers robust security and reliability.
911 Enable is a member of the VMware Technology Alliance Partner Program, which is designed for commercial software, hardware and storage vendors to leverage the VMware resources needed to deliver enhanced value to shared customers.
“VMware is a global leader in virtualization,” said Lev Deich, Director of 911 Enable. “By certifying our Virtual Emergency Gateway through the VMware Technology Alliance Partner Program, our customers can deploy the V-EGW with ease and be assured of seamless interoperability with their virtualized environment .”
